Have you set up the scanner via Yast? It creates a hal rule in
/etc/hal/fdi/policy/10osvendor/80-scanner.fdi that is used by hal and
resmgr to give user permissions to the usb device for scanning and
hp-toolbox. For you info, check
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_name=d868aa60707241117x3de413aax8f7940e5da3c4a7a%40mail.gmail.com&forum_name=hplip-help
for more info. I also have a 5610 and it worked great in 10.2 and now
in 10.3, and kooka works great as well, even giving input option for the
ADF. You did use hp-setup to install it? Mine even automatically
installed the fax. HTH.

Hi Joe,
thanks for your helping.
My kooka jet works fine too.
I forgot to look for the parameters from kooka
and the configuration from my kooka hide the scanner
Thank you
Regards Arno
